For Morgan Maureze, wine has always been and will always be a part of his blood and heritage. Born in France, raised, trained, and educated in both French and California wine-making regions, his experience spans continents and decades alike.
He started his career in his mid teens, spending holidays and summers at Dominus estate where he mostly worked in the vineyards. Upon achieving his UC Davis diploma in viticulture and enology, he decided to further pursue his education in his native region at the University of Bordeaux in an endeavor to compare both worlds. During his stay in France, he worked at Chateau Haut Brion, Etablissements Jean-Pierre Moueix (which managed esteemed chateaus such as Petrus, Magdalaine, and Trotanoy), and Domaine de la Romanee Conti where he ultimately completed his Masters Thesis.
Since returning to the Napa Valley, he has been working with Andy Erickson, with whom he crossed paths at Ovid, assisting him with his small high-end Napa Valley clients Arietta Wines, Dancing Hares Vineyards, Dalla Valle Vineyards, Marciano Estate , and Screaming Eagle.
Nicole Sieffert - Fink and Eric Fink
Nicole and Eric's passion for wine started when they were still living in Chicago. Their combined skills in working in Sales and Marketing at Fortune 500 Companies has helped turn their enthusiasm for wine into the Immix label.
Besides being a Marketer, Nicole also spent the past several years learning her way around a winery. She has previously interned at Far Niente, Quintessa, Rapura Vintners (New Zealand) and worked at Cuvaison. She met Morgan while working for Andy Erickson at Marciano Estate and continues to learn from him during this endeavor.
Our label design was born from the events that transpired the day we harvested our initial vintage of sauvignon blanc. The night after we pressed and barreled our first ton of fruit, a 6.2 magnitude earthquake shook the Napa Valley. These memorable events occurring within 24 hours inspired us to make that seismograph a part of our logo. We want to thank Eric’s brother, David, for helping us take this concept and form it into the label on our bottles today.
